Presentata l’offerta formativa del Pontificio Istituto Teologico Giovanni Paolo II per le Scienze del Matrimonio e della Famiglia per l’Anno Accademico 2019-2020

Città del Vaticano, 11 settembre 2019 – È stata pubblicata l’offerta formativa del Pontificio Istituto Teologico Giovanni Paolo II per le Scienze del Matrimonio e della Famiglia per l’Anno Accademico 2019-2020.

La grande novità presente nel nuovo organigramma degli studi è l’ampliamento dell’offerta accademica attraverso l’inserimento – accanto al Diploma e al Dottorato – di due percorsi di Licenza, anziché uno come in passato: Licenza in Teologia del Matrimonio e della Famiglia e Licenza in Scienze del Matrimonio e della Famiglia.
Questa rimodulazione dei percorsi di Licenza permette il potenziamento dei fondamenti teologici, confermando la centralità della famiglia come struttura fondamentale della forma cristiana ed aprendola ad un dialogo con i saperi scientifici e umanistici che ad essa si collegano.

La sinergia con le scienze umane vede la sua attuazione nella creazione di nuove Aree di Ricerca che approfondiranno la storia e la cultura delle istituzioni famigliari, il diritto e la sfera economica, che si affiancano a quelle di Teologia Morale e Teologia Sacramentaria già presenti nell’Istituto.
L’offerta della Licenza in Scienze permette anche a coloro che non hanno una formazione teologico-filosofica di specializzarsi nelle scienze umane del matrimonio e della famiglia, alla luce dell’ispirazione e della formazione cristiana della fede.

Con il nuovo anno accademico il Pontificio Istituto Teologico Giovanni Paolo II per le Scienze del Matrimonio e della Famiglia potrà finalmente entrare nel pieno esercizio del proprio qualificato assetto scientifico e del proprio tradizionale impegno formativo.

I titoli rilasciati dall’Istituto sono finalmente e pienamente riconosciuti canonicamente, secondo le indicazioni della relazione sull’Istituto fornita nel 2014 dall’AVEPRO che evidenziava punti gravemente problematici.
L’assicurazione del valore canonico dei titoli accademici rappresenta un orizzonte di motivazione e di prospettive che gli studenti non potranno non apprezzare, in vista della loro ambizione di offrire il loro qualificato apporto, teologico, pastorale, culturale, al servizio della Chiesa e della società.

The Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II for Marriage and Family Sciences presents the new 2019-2020 curricula.

Vatican City, 11 September 2019 – The Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II for Marriage and Family Sciences has published the new 2019-2020 curricula.

The big news in the new curricula is the new academic offer by including – alongside the Bachelor’s degree and the PhD – two Licentiates, instead of one as in the past: a Licentiate in Theology of Marriage and Family and a Licentiate in Marriage and Family Science. 
This reorganisation of the courses of study will strengthen the theological foundations, confirming the key role of the family as a fundamental structure of the Christian form and opening it to a dialogue with the scientific and humanistic knowledge that is related to it.

The synergy with the human sciences is implemented by creating new areas of research that will deepen the history and culture of family institutions, law and economics, which will complement Moral Theology and Sacramental Theology already available at the Institute.
The Licentiate in Sciences also allows those who do not have a theological-philosophical training to specialize in the human sciences of marriage and family, in the light of the Christian inspiration and formation of the faith.

With the new academic year, the Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II for Marriage and Family Sciences will finally be able to fully benefit from its qualified scientific structure and its traditional commitment to education.

At last, the qualifications awarded by the Institute are going to be fully and canonically recognized, following a report on the Institute provided in 2014 by AVEPRO, which highlighted serious problems. 
The assured canonical value of academic qualifications offers a horizon of motivation and perspectives that students will appreciate, in view of their ambition to give their qualified contribution – theological, pastoral, cultural – at the service of the Church and society.

The Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II for Marriage and Family Sciences is thus prepared to honour the uniqueness of its scientific and educational offer, together with its outstanding commitment in the field of ecclesial and humanistic dialogue aimed at a better understanding of the faith and the evangelical mission.
