Profondi mutamenti socio-culturali dell’immagine e del vissuto della famiglia, insieme a politiche demografiche tese a scoraggiare la natalità , hanno fatto sì che il “figlio unico” rappresenti per molte coppie un limite, insuperabile e indiscusso, della loro fecondità.

Un tale fenomeno suscita domande su dimensioni costitutive della famiglia stessa: l’alleanza generativa tra l’uomo e la donna; l’investimento sul futuro, il senso della relazione tra genitori e figli, la responsabilità verso la comunità degli uomini.

The deep social and cultural changes taking place in the realm of the image and experience of the family, together with demographic measures which have discouraged the birth-rate in the world, resulted in the one-child policy which represents for many couples an insurmountable and undisputed limitation of their fecundity.

Such a phenomenon raises questions about the constitutive dimensions of the family itself: the generative alliance between man and woman; an investment in a future project, the meaning of the parents-children relationship and the responsibility towards the human community
