DIPLOMA in Pastoral Family Ministry
Director of Studies: Prof. Alexandra DIRIART
The Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for the Sciences on Marriage and Family offers a Diploma in Pastoral Family Ministry, whose goal is the formation of qualified promoters of pastoral family ministry in the dioceses, in the parishes, and in the groups that propose to accompany and sustain families in their human and spiritual growth and in their work at the service of the Church and of society.
The program consists of a three-year cycle and must have at least 30 registered students to begin. This formation is composed of two intensive weeks each year: classes take place in the mornings, from Monday to Saturday, during the month of July, in a holiday location, in order to additionally allow for rest and recreation. Every course demands four class hours and eight hours of personal study, for a total of twelve hours (one academic credit.)
All those who possess a five-year high school diploma can apply for the Diploma in Pastoral Family Ministry. For all those who do not possess the former degree, it is possible to obtain, upon request, a certificate of participation.
Obtaining the diploma is conditional upon the presentation of a written paper and passing the final exam. The theme of the paper is proposed by the student (at least six months before the final exam) and approved by the Director of Studies. The paper can not be any longer than 10,000 words.
